NOW, we have to find somewhere to live in Corinth! We've looked at several houses & are keeping renting the first year as an option. There's actually a house we both like in a great neighborhood, but it needs a lot of work & the price doesn't quite reflect that, so I don't know if that will work out.
The other issue is trying to figure out how to get a new place while our current house sale is not final. This has been a source of stress for me. The closing date is currently set for August 28th. I have to start work on September 1st. If you do the math, that doesn't give us much time to do any necessary renovations & settle in...especially with a baby who will have to adjust to a new environment & starting day care. Not much time at all. OH, and did I mention that we don't know when Bill's transfer will go through so he'll be living on someone's couch in Knoxville while Henry & I are trying to adjust in Corinth. AND Henry's 1st birthday (which is a huge milestone for him & us and I want to be sure it gets all the attention it deserves) will be September 5th (party on the 7th). Yeah. (I'm freaking out just typing this! Y'all pray for my nerves!)
Another thing I've realized in the last few days is that moving, especially out of state, is challenging! Now, for those that know me, this is not my first rodeo when it comes to state hopping. But, boy, is it different this time! It's not just me & the stuff in my boxes. This time I've got roots planted up here. We've LIVED our lives up here. We started a family here. It's different...& a lot more work!
Right now we are still in the 'excited that things are moving along' stage. As the closing date draws closer, I know it will be bitter-sweet. We love this house, this neighborhood, and Knoxville. Moving to Corinth will be a big adjustment for all of us. We've prayed about it for many months and believe this is the right thing to do for our family, but that doesn't always mean it will be easy. However, we have so much to look forward to! I, for one, can't wait to be surrounded by friends & family! Changes are constant (let that sink in!). I am going to try to make the best of the changes & challenges to come! I know that God will get us through this & bless us for following His path!
In the meantime, y'all pray that our nerves can withstand the madness!
Have you had to move out of state? Was a pending sale the source of relief and stress for you? How did you cope with the craziness?
