Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes!

This is a quick (but long) update of the many things going on that I owe you posts on but don't have time to upload pictures and write them right now.  I just wanted you to know that I haven't completely dropped off the Earth...just dropped out of Tennessee.

We had a birthday party for Henry before leaving Knoxville and it turned out really fun!  Well, it was fun for me & Henry.  I hope everyone else had a good time, ha!  We only invited some of Bill's family to the party.  We really wanted to invite other friends, especially those who have been involved in Henry's life & those that have kids his age or are about to have babies, but there was no way all those people could fit in our house!  Sad we didn't get to see them, though :(.  I will upload pics & tell you more about it later.

I have been planning to have a birthday party in Corinth for Henry on September 7th, but being homeless is sort of throwing a wrench in my plans.  I still have no idea what to do.  We might have to postpone his Corinth party until we have somewhere to host it.

Speaking of a place to host a party:  We were in town looking for a place to rent a few weeks ago & couldn't find anything that was both affordable & clean.  But while we were in town, our realtor/friend, Jan, sent us to look at a house that had just gone into foreclosure in one of the neighborhoods we like.  Talk about good timing!  We put a bid in on the house.  We found out there were 2 other bids on the house.  We had to wait 2 weeks to hear back from the selling bank...seriously, 2 weeks!

While waiting to hear if we were going to be homeless or not, we packed up the house, loaded the Uhaul, and moved Henry & I to Mississippi.  Since we didn't have anywhere to take the Uhaul, we unloaded everything into storage.  My wonderful parents gave Henry & I a room at their house until we have a clue what is going on with the foreclosure.

Bill has to stay in Knoxville until his transfer with work goes through.  We don't know how long it will take, but hopefully not long!  Again, we had wonderful family step up & offer Bill a place to live while he waited on the transfer.  So blessed to have great family in both places!

Since Bill was stuck in Knoxville anyway, he handled the closing on our home there.  The closing was on August 28th.  It feels incredibly strange to know that we can't go back there.  We put so much work & love into that house.  I know we will do the same for whatever house we end up in next!  I'm excited to find out what house our little man will grow up in in Corinth & make it a happy, safe home for him and our little family!

Speaking of where Henry will grow up:  We FINALLY heard back from the bank that had the foreclosure that we bid on and they countered our offer & we accepted!  We heard back from them on the same day that our other home closed!  Timing again!  I know God is in control on this!  I'm trying to control my excitement for possibly having a place to live until after the home inspection.  The house needs some serious work & I'm super nervous that it may be too much for us to handle financially.  I'm praying for wisdom & guidance as we wait for the inspection.  In the meantime, I'm cautiously optimistic and looking at paint colors :).

Henry will be starting daycare down here next Tuesday (cause Monday's a holiday).  I'm nervous for him to go to a new daycare, but I feel really good about our choice and think it will benefit him greatly to be around other kids his age.  I pray that he adjusts quickly.  He's had so much change happening lately that sometimes I worry it's too much to ask of him.  But he's been doing really well so far and I think this will provide some much needed structure for him.  I'll keep you updated on that as we chug along (train reference cause it's his favorite toy right now, ha!).

Speaking of lots of change:  Besides moving out of state without my hubby, selling a house, living in a temporary space with an almost 1 year old, trying to buy another house (a fixer upper, no less!), and starting a new job,  we are also going to be switching offices at work!  WooHoo...more change!  That's how I'll be spending my Labor Day weekend...moving office furniture & files.  Don't be jealous!  Ha!  Seriously though, I'm super thankful to have a job & glad that we're doing so well that we need a bigger space.  God is good!

There's so much going on at one time, but eventually things will settle down and we'll all be together again.  I look forward to just enjoying the simple life, but I'm trying to also remember to enjoy the journey that gets us there (and trying to document it cause it's happening so fast!).  Every day is such a gift & I'm thankful for the people I get to spend mine with!

P.S.-  Sorry there are no pics for this post!  I can't find anything right now, but will get to the details on some of the stuff soon...with pics!  :)

  1. Meredith,

I used A Letter a Week curriculum as a base and made it my own. My sister-in-law recommended it. She home schools her 5 children, and is fabulous so I trust her. Here's the link...

I used the scripture songs for each letter and find my own art ideas.

I hope this helps! Thanks for stopping by!
